Krabi Travel Guide
Krabi Province is one of the southern provinces of Thailand, along the shore
of the Andaman Sea. Krabi province borders Phuket, Phang Nga, Surat Thani,
Nakhon Si Thammarat and Trang. The capital of Krabi is the city of Krabi
town.
Krabi is famous for dramatic limestone cliffs and hills contain many
caves, and dripping with stalactites and stalagmites. Tham Chao Le and
Tham Phi Hua To, in the Ao Luek district, contain prehistoric rock-painting
depicting humans, animals as well as geometrical shapes dating back some
40,000 years. Krabi has some of the oldest traces of human occupation
in all of South-East Asia. The caves of Krabi are also one of the main
sources of nests of the Edible-nest Swiftlet, used to create the expensive
& popular bird's nest soup. Krabi also provides a backdrop for many
Hollywood movies.
